Oregon and Northern California, 2021

In 2021, Ginny and I drove from Salt Lake City through along nearly all of the western United States coast, with stops in Seattle, Portland, Eureka, Monterey and Long Beach before heading east to Mesa, north to southern Utah, then home again. November is a beautiful time of year in the western states.

Glass Beach, California. We listened to a Real Salt Lake match on our way here, and I continued listening on my phone when we stopped. Damir Kreilach scored a stoppage time winner over Sporting Kansas City, landing RSL a playoff berth through his actions. I ran around the beach, excited about the goal. It was a beautiful moment.
